• Staff Feature: Happy Retirement Mark!

Mark joined the Ricky team 15 years ago and has created many lasting relationships with his customers and team. Working primarily in the technical textiles division, Mark has excelled in developing his product knowledge and enjoys sharing this with his fellow team members and customers. In addition to his incredible product knowledge, Mark has an incredible knack for understanding his customer's requirements for the performance of products specific to the project.

Mark’s warm, friendly demeanor, kindness, and love of what he does will be missed beyond measure! We want to congratulate him on his wonderful career at Ricky, and his retirement, here’s to your next big adventure!

This week Mark shares some of his highlights from working at Ricky and his plans for his retirement. Here’s to your second act, may it be even more fantastic than the first!

What was your favorite memory from working at Ricky?                                          There are so many great memories over the years it’s hard to choose a favorite one. However, one of my fondest memories is visiting China with Norm Gottleib about 10 years ago to attend an international trade show and visit a PVC manufacturing plant for the first time.

Looking back, what was your favorite thing about your job?
The people, both the people I’ve worked with over the last 15 years, my Ricky Family, and my many, many customers who I’ve built close relationships and friendships with. Hopefully, this will continue well into my retirement years.

Top tips for anyone trying to break into your field?                                                         Be a good listener, ask appropriate questions, and know your products, their strengths, and limitations.

What are your plans now for retirement?
My wife, Christine, and I will be traveling extensively within Australia. I will continue to be involved in my surf lifesaving club doing patrols and officiating at surf boat carnivals. Any spare time will involve golfing and fishing!

What will you miss most about working at Ricky?
Darren Best LOL, only joking, of course, my Ricky family!
