Thinking back, what was one job that you did really well that you know made a big difference to the results achieved for the customer or your team?
I had a young start up customer that had been doing a lot of banners for the local soccer club but the problem was they were soon splitting after being folded up after the game. The cost to upgrade to a more suitable product and solve the problem was $6 per banner or he could keep replacing them for free at a cost of about $100 to himself. In my way of thinking the customer was going to walk eventually due to poor quality so I suggested he go back and tell the customer he would upgrade the banner for an extra cost of $10 per banner. The end user was happy to pay extra to save the hassle in bringing them back for replacement. As the saying goes, It’s not the price, It’s the cost! I also told him to make sure they roll the banners, not fold them!
