What are your professional strengths in this role?
I have experienced all aspects of the role to fully understand what individual customers want, as I have 39 years work experience in the Textile, Window Furnishing, Home Decor Textiles and Technical Textiles Industries, from Production, to Wholesale and Retail. This has allowed me to meld my experiences for better advice and outcomes. I am also a great listener and believer in ethical business practices to achieve long term business relationships.
Thinking back, what was one job that you did really well that you know made a big difference to the results achieved for the customer or your team?
In a long career, it is hard to focus on one successful experience that has had a positive affect on individuals and the teams I have managed over the years. I would have to narrow it down to the fact I have been trusted by many personnel over the years to mentor and guide them to be better salespeople and I have always been available to help everyone. I believe it has been my efforts to get the right people for specific roles that stands out.
If there was one thing that you wished people could understand about the way you fulfill your role, what would it be?
Customers, both current and potential, should be confident enough to treat me as an integral part of their business and realise I am there to assist them as someone on the outside looking in.
What do you hope to achieve in your role at Ricky Richards?
To ensure the Victorian Sun Control business continues to achieve sustainable, incremental growth within the industry and be seen as a positive contributor to the overall success for the National SC team.
