We have always believed that true community impact is not defined by a fleeting moment of generosity or a single promotional campaign. It is defined by unwavering endurance, deep-rooted relationships, and a profound sense of responsibility to the communities that support us.
We don’t simply write cheques, we build partnerships that span decades, woven tightly into the very fabric of our corporate identity.
It is with immense pride, humility, and excitement that we announce Ricky Richards has officially won the Community Impact Award at the WSAA (Window Shading Association of Australia) Awards!
A Legacy of Giving: Surpassing $500,000
This award is a celebration of a milestone close to all of our hearts: together, Ricky Richards has proudly contributed over $500,000 to date across our three core charity partners. This half-a-million-dollar milestone translates into tangible, life-changing outcomes for families and children across Australia.
1. Standing with the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation (SCHF)
Our cornerstone partnership began all the way back in December 1996. For nearly thirty years, we have stood beside the SCHF, donating $343,000 specifically to the Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick. This funding supports urgent medical equipment, vital paediatric research, and critical accommodation for families travelling from regional areas so they can remain close to their children during treatment.
2. Expanding North with the Queensland Children’s Hospital Foundation (QCHF)
As our commercial footprint has grown, so too has our capacity to care. In 2025, we proudly stepped up as a Sapphire Partner with the QCHF, committing significant, structured resources to support paediatric healthcare in Queensland.
3. Fighting Skin Cancer with the Australian Skin Cancer Foundation (ASCF)
Since 2021, we have been a passionate, active supporter of the ASCF, founded by Jay Allen, OAM (“The Melanoma Man”). This partnership is deeply personal and strategically aligned with our industry. As leaders in window shading and sun protection, our fabrics physically protect Australians from harsh UV rays every single day. By backing the ASCF, we take our industry’s mission beyond the built environment and straight into the realm of public health, funding national awareness campaigns and accessible skin checks.
The Heartbeat of Our Workplace Culture
This award doesn’t belong to the boardroom, it belongs to our incredible staff and loyal customers. Our charitable initiatives are the heartbeat of our daily workplace culture.
Working closely with Jay Allen’s mission has been profoundly educational for our team, driving home the vital importance of melanoma prevention, sun safety, and routine skin checks. It empowers our sales teams to speak with genuine conviction and deep industry pride when discussing the protective, UV-blocking value of our shade products with clients.
Our team takes immense pride in knowing that their daily efforts directly alleviate the emotional and financial burdens of serious illness for everyday Australian families.
Thank You for Standing with Us
Winning the WSAA Community Impact Award proves that a successful business can and must leave a lasting, life-saving legacy. We are incredibly honoured by this recognition from our industry peers, and we are more inspired than ever to keep moving the needle where it matters most.
Thank you to our amazing team, our manufacturing partners, and our loyal customers. You are the reason we can continue to prove that Ricky truly cares.
